Lauren B Bradley, LCSW, LMBT
Psychotherapy for adults in Carrboro, NC
Approach
Lauren understands how difficult it can be to reach out for help. People often seek therapy during times of crises or going through life transitions, experiencing the effects of trauma, dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, or relationship difficulties. Lauren’s goal as a therapist is to provide a welcoming space where clients can feel comfortable sharing and working as collaborators, become curious about their lives, and feel hope in working toward their goals, at a pace that is safe for each individual.

Lauren specializes in working with trauma and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a comprehensive approach that addresses trauma as well as a broader range of common concerns that clients may experience, including anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Lauren has been trained in and finds Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing (SE) work useful in helping clients deepen their understanding of themselves and often teaches skills from different modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to give client’s concrete tools to increase stability and functioning.

Lauren also weaves her years of training and experience in bodywork into her practice. She helps clients increase body awareness through education about the nervous system and techniques to help settle, ground, and connect the mind and body.

In addition to working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship health, Lauren has clinical interests and training in neurodiversity and specific anxiety disorders, including trichotillomania and skin picking disorder. Her interests and self-directed learning also include racial justice and sexual health.

Therapy is a practice. Lauren is constantly learning and growing through her work with clients and the expanding body of research and training within the field of psychotherapy. She has enormous respect and gratitude for the people who sit with her and is regularly impressed with their insights, humor, vulnerability and strength.
